At age 46, Jennifer Lopez continues to defy all kinds of stereotypes about aging, longevity and fitness, and as the years go by, she remains in the public spotlight, as an entertainment icon, of course, but also as a role model for good health, and weight loss success. Not to mention the demanding schedule — a hit TV police drama series, ‘Shades of Blue,’ a judge on the final season of ‘American Idol’ and her Las Vegas residency. That’s quite a load!

She’s been candid over the years about the work she puts into looking so toned, fit and svelte. That was quite on display in a recent scene ‘Shades of Blue’ which saw her stripped down to a black bra and revealing impressive arms and torso.

In a new interview, celebrity trainer, Tracy Anderson spoke about her famous client and shared some of her fitness secrets in a new interview with People. She said of Lopez, “I have her eating very clean because she needs really good fuel for all the things that she’s doing,.”

Continuing, Anderson, added, “It’s all organic and it’s all very well thought out, with the balance of very high quality proteins and a lot of nutrient-dense food.”

She went on to say, “Everything is fresh..There’s nothing processed.” She noted that the only exception to that rule is protein powder “in a shake if we do a protein shake one day.”

Anderson also spoke of Jennifer Lopez’s balanced approach and said “she’s not going to miss out on Thanksgiving or a holiday with her children.”

And she went speak of how the physical fitness is a key part of the equation, saying, “That’s one of the reasons why the workout is important, and it’s so consistent – so we don’t do any kind of extreme dieting.”

Last year, Jennifer Lopez told US Weekly about her work with Tracy Anderson, saying, “I work out, but I’m not as much of a fanatic as I used to be. And, funnily enough, I feel like I’m in better shape.” now.”

She also told the publication about her acceptance of her physique, saying, “I’m not a 6-foot-tall model. I’m not a size 2. And when I came to Hollywood, that’s what the world was filled with. I was fine being me and I think that changed a lot of people’s thinking.”

She did also plug her line of diet products, BodyLab, saying, “I’m always looking for something that’s gonna help me enhance that lifestyle. BodyLab is a set of supplements that is about your body working as hard as you do.”

What she’s doing is obviously working! She sets a good example by not advocating crash diets and by showing that a person can live a busy and productive life and still maintain diet and fitness optimal. One might argue, well, she’s got trainers and chefs, but when it comes down to it, it’s all about the daily discipline; Jennifer Lopez’ diet and fitness tips can work for anyone.
