One Direction performed ‘Drag Me Down’ at the BBC Music Awards and the photos and the video are here! See one of the band’s final performances, along with red carpet pictures of a special and memorable night.
Performances of the quartet are coming to an end. Now that the On the Road Again Tour wrapped in November, the new album ‘Made in the A.M.’ is out, and the four members of 1D — Niall Horan, Liam Payne, Louis Tomlinson, Harry Styles –are set to go on hiatus next year. Speculation abounds as to future plans. Might they all pursue solo careers just as their departed band mate, Zayn Malik, did months ago, and is now signed to RCA Records.
These video and images are going viral as Directioners are sharing them across social media as the band took to the red carpet prior to their performance at the annual event, held this year at the Genting Arena in Birmingham, England.
‘Drag Me Down’ is not only the first single the band released after Zayn Malik’s departure, but it set a record at Spotify and its music video was the first ever shot at the Houston Space Center with the full cooperation of NASA. The performance live on stage was one that’s so intense it comes with a flashing lights warning, so do keep that in mind, if needed, when viewing.
As for winners of awards that night, it was Adele’s much-deserved double win for Best Live Performance and British Artist of the Year, that became the talk. The first of who knows how many awards for her comeback album ’25.’ And not surprisingly, it was Taylor Swift who won International Artist of the Year, as she has ruled the world with ‘1989’ for more than a year.
But for 1D it was also a night to bask in accolades for one of their final performances this year. You can see photos plus the behind-the-scenes video and the full performance of One Direction at the BBC Music Awards below!
