Khloe Kardashian opened up about her decision to put off the divorce from Lamar Odom in the aftermath of his medical crisis and gave an update on his recovery. She also spoke out about her relationship with her current boyfriend James Harden on ‘The Ellen DeGeneres Show.’
Under normal circumstances, the 31-year-old ‘Keeping Up with the Kardashians’ star would be in full-fledged promo mode for her newly published book, ‘Strong Looks Better Naked’ in which she shares some of her diet, fitness and weight loss tips. She has cancelled the book tour, and her presence in social media has been muted.
As the entire world knows, thanks to the incessant and often intrusive publicity, Khloe Kardashian has been with estranged husband, former NBA L.A. Lakers star Lamar Odom ever since he was rushed to the hospital in Las Vegas after being found unconscious in a brothel after allegedly overdosing on substances. Weeks later, he has been transported to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center where he remains, with a long recovery still ahead of him.
Now Khloe Kardashian speaks out in her first television interview about her relationship status. She told host Ellen DeGeneres, “Well I’m there helping him and I love him and I’ve always loved him. And that will never change and I just feel like it’s a really insensitive thing to fast forward a divorce.”
Continuing, she said. “But I love him and I always will and he’s a fantastic person who deserves support and love and for someone to be by his side and for me I’m that to him. And thank God I have a fantastic family who loves me and loves him just as much.”
She made mention of NBA Houston Rockets star James Harden, whom she has dated for several months, saying, “I have a great boyfriend who’s understanding.”
She went on to say, “It’s definitely a very unique situation, to say the least” and said that Lamar Odom is “fine with it.” Elaborating, she added, “I mean we have to communicate a lot. And he’s really supportive and great.”
Referencing the nonstop speculation in the media, she said, “I think the press and everything they make it more complicated. I think inside our circle we know exactly what’s going on and I feel sometimes it’s crazy that I, yes we live so much of our life in public, but that I have to explain every step when that’s kind of frustrating.”
She went on to speak of some of the cognitive challenges Lamar Odom is facing, saying, “He’s really confused a lot. Sometimes he knows who the President is and his birthday, and sometimes he thinks he’s 26. And I say I bet you wish you were 26, so do I!”
There’s more to the interview, and after the broadcast it will be added below. Meanwhile, a preview of Khloe Kardashian speaking out about Lamar Odom and James Harden is below.
