“Atonement” star Keira Knightley does British Vogue Magazine. Her career is propelling her to superstardom, yet she hates limelight. And with a new film “Atonement” and fragrance campaign “Chanel Coco Mademoiselle”, things are only going to get more intense. Interviewed by Alex Bilmes while Mario Testino shoots her in knockout new-season Chanel.

In the Vogue interview, Keira Knightley says she thinks “Atonement” was the first time she had felt more confident about being brought in to give something to the part, as opposed to looking pretty. The film plot is really interesting: “In the summer of 1935, 13-year-old Briony Tallis (Saoirse Ronan -Romola Garai) observes a flirtation between a servant’s son, Robbie (James McAvoy), and her older sister, Cecilia (Keira Knightley), that she childishly misconstrues. Briony’s misunderstanding leads to changes the course of several lives when she accuses her older sister’s lover of a crime he did not commit. A terrible crime whose consequences follow them through World War II”. (You can see the “Atonement” trailer after the jump)

I think a lot of actresses deal with pressure by going out and getting wasted. In a funny way, I think that’s the sanest thing you can do. I kind of wish I’d done it.

Of course I want to have my cake and eat it. Who doesn’t want to. Show me that person!
