Lea Michele graces the cover of Flare magazine and opens up about her new boyfriend Matthew Paetz, and how she has found love again after the death of Cory Monteith, her previous boyfriend and ‘Glee’ costar.

The 28-year-old former ‘Glee’ star turned pop music star and author of the self-help/memoir hybrid ‘Brunette Ambition’ now adds something new to the resume; she’s among the costars of Ryan Murphy’s’ Scream Queens’ alongside Emma Roberts as the new series hits the airwaves in the fall for its inaugural season.

And she’s on the cover of the Canadian fashion magazine Flare opening up about what is still surely an emotionally charged topic.

In the public eye, for two years now, Lea Michele has had to cope with the death of Cory Monteith. Yes, two years now since the sad news traveled around the world that the beloved ‘Glee’ star was found dead of a toxic combination of heroin and alcohol in a hotel room in Vancouver.

And as the months unfolded, she spoke out in interviews on how she was dealing with and processing her grief and, eventually, there was a new man in her life, the 30-year-old Matthew Paetz, and much speculation and, not surprisingly, not all of it positive.

Michele said of finding love again, “I wanted to make sure that I was okay with me, feeling strong and feeling happy on my own. I didn’t want anybody to fill any holes for me—that sounds sexual! I wanted to make sure that I was a whole person again and that no one was coming into my life to put me back together.”

She continued, saying, “I needed to do that on my own. I worked very, very, very hard and I got back to that place where I was genuinely happy and strong and ready to live again and see the world and, you know, bring in more beautiful experiences. And that’s when someone miraculously came into my life.”

She was also reflective of her achievements over the past few years, and said, “I’m so proud of my success. I’m really proud of the life I’ve built and created for myself. I’ve kept my head on my shoulders to get to where I am.” And as she did previously, with the bestseller ‘Brunette Ambition,’ she’s got another soon-to-be published book, aimed at helping others, ‘You First: Journal Your Way to Your Best Life.’

And she spoke of how she deals with bullies and haters, of which, sadly she has had her share in the past couple of years. Lea Michele said, “You’re always going to run into critics. The only people I care about are the people that are close to me. It’s a tough business, it’s a tough town, and you really have to have a thick skin. I’m constantly learning, but I’m really proud of where I am.”
