Savannah Outen had premiered the music video for ‘Boys,’ her debut original single and it’s proving to be popular already. For the rising pop music star, this may indeed be her breakthrough hit. Listen to the infectious anthem and get the details!
The 22-year-old Savannah Outen began, as have so many, as an unknown cover artist on YouTube who quickly established a following, with tens of thousands of subscribers and numerous videos which have gone viral collectively racking up an impressive 150 million views. We’ve witnessed this before, most notably Justin Bieber who famously got his start at a preteen hopeful. She has lent her impressive vocals to many a hit song along with some original songs along the way to so many millions of views and has built a substantial fan base.
Billboard interviewed Savannah Outen and she said of the new song that she had written it “after I had walked past this guy on the streets of New York.” She went on to say, “I never got a name, but I couldn’t stop thinking about him. So thanks to that stranger!”
And indeed, the black-and-white cinematic video recreates the moments she describes as she walks through the streets of the city unable to forget the boy who inspired ‘Boys.’
So as Outen begins her evolution from viral video star to recording star we may indeed look back and remember ‘Boys’ as the breakthrough hit heard on the airwaves and in clubs all over the world. It’s got the potential. The song was produced by hitmaker producer team of Emanuel “Eman” Kiriakou and Evan “Kidd” Bogart — who have worked with the likes of Beyonce and Rihanna — along with “2 On” producer Jon Redwine.
And it’s not just the one song; Outen is working with Kiriakou and Bogart for her entire debut album, according to Billboard. She told the publication, “They’re like family. I’ve learned so much about songwriting and the industry from them.”
