Mila Kunis opened up for the first time about her pregnancy during an interview on ‘The Ellen DeGeneres Show.’ She and her fiance, Ashton Kutcher, are expecting their first child and the actress had much to say about what she was going through as an expectant mother as she exuberantly broke her silence.

Thr 30-year-old ‘Jupiter Ascending’ star Mila Kunis and her fiance, 36-year-old ‘Two and a Half Men’ star Ashton Kutcher never made a formal announcement of the pregnancy. It was left to reports in celebrity news outlets, notably E!News.

Thus on ‘The Ellen DeGeneres Show’ Kunis made her first comments — as well as first acknowledgement — about her pregnancy as she wore a short white sleeveless and stylish maternity dress which hid her baby bump underneath folds of fabric.

The host made note of the long silence saying, “Congratulations. Now you hid it for a while. “I mean, you got away with it for a long time.”

To which Kunis said, “I did. We were actually able to hide it for a very long time. I know. It’s amazing.” When asked she declined to give the due date, the gender and the name that she said she and Kucher had picked out.

She did open up about her pregnancy cravings, saying, “I’m very stereotypical. I eat sauerkraut all day long. Here’s the truth.”

To which Ellen DeGeneres said, “Because you’re from the Ukraine, right?”

Kunis replied, “I guess so. This is the worst craving to have because sauerkraut smells and so every time you open up a jar it just reeks in the whole kitchen. It’s not like ice cream where everything smells lovely.”

But as she revealed, sauerkraut was not her only craving; she also was craving pickles and as the host had some served up to her right there on the stage, along with the sauerkraut she said, “Vinegar based food, I guess, is what I’m craving.”

Asked if Kutcher was being attentive in helping her with her cravings, she said, “Yes. But he kind of preempted this. He assumed that I was gonna have goofy cravings, so he stocked our secondary fridge with weird food. Just like pickles, and sauerkraut, or like anchovies, and ice creams, just in case at one point during this pregnancy I’d be like, ‘I really want something.'”

She continued, saying, “And it happened last week. I was like, ‘Oh my God, I need a pickle!’ It was just the weirdest thing, like I needed this pickle. And he was like, ‘Hold on a second,’ and disappeared in the backyard and came back with the most amazing dill pickle of all time.”

When asked Kunis confirmed the rumor that Ashton Kutcher was studying Russian so he would be able to speak it with the baby. She said, “Yeah, he’s been taking classes for probably like six months now. He does it twice a week. A woman comes to the house to give him lessons. It’s really, really great.”

She also talked about her intention to have a natural birth. Asked if it would be home birth, she said, “We thought about it. We watched a couple of documentaries and we looked into the like the midwife aspect of it and things and spoke to my OB/GYN and realized that the hospital that I’m going to be laboring in does a midwife, you know, doula type of thing, and so I’m going to do it as all natural as I possibly can unless that there’s an emergency or something that should wrong.” In noting that she was not planning to have an epidural, she added, “I’m crazy. I mean, I did this to myself—I might as well do it right,” she said. “I wanted this. It’s like, no one made me do this.”

Mila Kunis also spoke about how she and Kutcher kept their engagement a secret, ironically without effort. She said, “We were able to keep this private for two months—two months without anybody knowing. I think everybody assumed we’ve been engaged for so long that I was wearing the ring in public for two months and nobody ever commented on a single photograph. They just decided not to acknowledge it for two months. It was amazing.”
