Jay Z and Beyonce graced the red carpet at the Met Gala and as she dropped one of her rings, her devoted husband retrieved it and pretended to propose as he slipped it back on her finger. The heartwarming moment was captured on video and in photos!

Beyonce covers TIME magazine’s 100 Most Influential People in the World issue, and still has the music and entertainment world enthralled with her surprise self-titled visual album. But it turns out her husband is also enthralled. No slouch himself, the entertainment mogul is the other half of the power couple that Forbes estimates to be worth more than half a billion dollars.

The fashion world was already abuzz as the couple graced the red carpet at the Metropolitan Museum for the annual Met Gala which signals the opening of the Costume Institute’s annual exhibit — Charles James: Beyond Fashion, this time.

As noted, one of her rings fell to the red-carpeted floor and Jay Z was quick to swoop down and pick it up and to make the grand gesture of proposal Which naturally she accepted! She smiled and laughed with delight as photographers were busy capturing the moment. Quite literally he had “put a ring on it” as in the lyrics of her iconic “Single Ladies” song!

The captivating images have gone viral in social media as the video, the photos and the gifs have collectively become the latest Internet meme

Beyonce was breathtaking in a black quasi-Gothic beaded Givenchy gown with a plunging neckline and a long train. She was wearing a lacy black veil and Lorraine Schwartz jewels. Absolutely gorgeous, and fashionistas and would-be fashionistas online are raving. Jay Z was handsomely attired in a formal white jacket and shirt and black tie. Their outfits perfectly complemented each other.

The video of that special moment is below — pictures here — plus some more red carpet photos of the gorgeous couple!
