‘N Sync’s Lance Bass Releases ‘Walking on Air,’ First New Song in 12 Years

Former ‘N Sync member Lance Bass has released a new single, ‘Walking on Air.’ It’s his first new song in 12 years. Yes, that’s a long time! The dance track features guest artists including Snoop Dogg.

The 34-year-old has hit the studio and, after the long hiatus has delivered! Along with Snoop Dogg, other artists on what he describes to E!News as a “fun dance track” are Anise K and Bella Blue.

It was E!News that had the exclusive premiere of the new song which Lance Bass further described saying, “These days songs have to be played in clubs and this is one of those songs that you’ll definitely hear in the club. I’m sure it will be remixed so many different times.”

Although a new song may have been long in coming — Lance Bass announced a solo project some time ago — the timing is perfect. The exciting, but much too short reunion performance of the full original lineup of ‘N Sync, including its former frontman Justin Timberlake was just enough to remind us of what we’ve been missing all these years. Then to, there was the “‘N Sync wedding” that saw another reunion of the band when Chris Kirkpatrick married longtime girlfriend Karly Skladany.

It’s led to wonder and speculation; if many of our other favorite boy bands have reunited — Backstreet Boys, New Kids on the Block, and of course Boyz II Men who never left us — why not ‘N Sync?

While that may or may not happen, it’s great to see another former member step out with a new song, and a dance song especially. Lance Bass told E!News, “I’m going to release it and if people love it, hopefully it will climb the charts…I’m just going to play it by ear.”

We will see indeed what happens when ‘Walking on Air’ hits iTunes. Meanwhile you can preview the song here.

Also check out below an earlier version of the song, with Belgian pop music star Ian Thomas, which premiered in Belgium and Australia.
