Kylie Minogue’s New Single ‘Into the Blue’ Leaks

January 19, 2014

Kylie Minogue’s new single ‘Into the Blue’ has leaked. The much anticipated song from the pop music icon and judge on ‘The Voice UK’ has gone viral, days before its official release date.

Updated below with official lyric video.

The 45-year-old Kylie Minogue signed to Jay Z’s Roc Nation to much fanfare and released a buzz single ‘Skirt,’ an infectious dance track which she co-wrote with hitmaker songwriters including The-Dream and Chris Elliot who also served as producer.

As ‘Skirt’ served its purpose and did generate excitement and enthusiasm — deservedly so — months have gone by. Now it was her new single — as well as her new album, which will be her 12th — were anxiously awaited. The official release date of the single is January 27th. Now it has leaked online foiling what was a slow and tantalizing promo campaign.

Just days earlier, Kylie Minogue had debuted the alluring single cover which sees her seated with her back to the camera, in a lacy garment which leaves her shoulders much of her body bare. Later, she shared some of the song lyrics in a handwritten note on her Facebook page.

So what was once just the tease of lyrics with a melody to follow, is instead a song that, as it goes with leaks, is out forever and it’s got the makings of a club hit, a brand new EDM anthem, with such empowering lines as “…When I got my back up against the wall/ Don’t need no one to rescue me/ Cause I quit waiting up for no miracle/ Tonight I’m running free/ Into The Blue…”

As for the new album, a release date has not been set. It will be her first since the 2010 album ‘Aphrodite.’ Reportedly the producers will include include hitmaker Pharrell Williams — who was producer and featured artist on two recent smash hits, Robin Thicke’s ‘Blurred Lines’ and Daft Punk’s ‘Get Lucky’ — as well as MNEK, Greg Kurstin and Ariel Rechtshaid.

But in the meantime, we do have ‘Into the Blue’ and the official lyric video has now been added below!
