‘Pretty Little Liars’ Lucy Hale: ‘You Sound Good to Me’ Music Video Debuts

January 8, 2014

‘Pretty Little Liars’ star Lucy Hale has premiered the music video of her debut single, ‘You Sound Good to Me,’ on an episode of the show. The country song was released a few days earlier to critical acclaim.

The 24-year-old actress portrays Aria Montgomery on the ABC Family drama series ‘Pretty Little Liars’ alongside costars Troian Bellisario, Shay Mitchell, and Ashley Benson. She’s now making a foray into country music. Such forays are not always memorable for the artist, but in this case, Lucy Hale, who is signed to Hollywood Records, seems off to a favorable start with a very catchy mid-tempo love song and gorgeous country-infused vocals.

While singers who transition to acting are quite common, it is not always as commonplace to see the opposite. But Lucy Hale can take comfort in seeing the resounding success of another such actress-turned-recording artist, Ariana Grande, who’s also on the Nickelodeon sitcom ‘Sam & Cat’ even as her debut album debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200.

Lucy Hale’s music video for ‘You Sound Good to Me’ was directed by Philip Andelman who has directed videos for such artists as Beyonce, Rihanna, Taylor Swift and Selena Gomez. With its broadcast premiere on one of the coldest days in the U.S. in decades, thanks to the Polar Vortex it gave viewers a glimpse of a sweet heartwarming story on a warm, summery day as

Lucy Hale is seen with a handsome love interest as they embark on a scenic road trip but stop long enough to enact some of the song’s lyrics…”Yeah baby, when you lean in / Yeah, I get a crazy, crazy good kind of feelin’ / It’s like Amen from the back of the choir / Sweet hum of freedom underneath the tires….”

As for the highly anticipated album itself, Lucy Hale spoke about it when she debut her single on Sirius XM radio. She said at that time, “I’m going to do a country-pop album, and I couldn’t be more excited. I grew up in Tennessee, so that’s always been my heart and soul.”

A rising country star in the making? Well, we will remember her way back when. The music video is below!
