It seems the Bulls have decided that leaving LeBron James mocked during the foul controversy is better than letting him play at his top game. A bunch of plays have ended in fouls during the playoff series, and Chicago fans are upset over what they think is preferential treatment of King James.
The Bulls don’t mind trying to draw a foul here or there. They have been playing rough, but there is one particular play that went a little overboard, which left both James and a Bulls player getting up close and personal with the court.
It began when LeBron and Nazr Mohammed got tangled up after the ball moved from one side of the court to another. LeBron sort of flung Nazr down. He suddenly got up, and shoved LeBron. From there, it an obvious acting job by James, who slid on his butt several feet across the court. The ref quickly ejected Mohammed, who ended up getting a standing ovation from the Bulls fans.
So what’s the issue? Well, obviously LeBron deserved the technical foul he received, but many people feel that Mohammed should not have been fully ejected for pushing back. Chicago fans and even their coach think the refs are siding with the young superstar.
Here is what the Bulls coach had to say after reviewing a bunch of tape to check up on the refs calls:
“We’re well aware of what’s going on. I’m watching how things are going. I watch very closely… From my angle, I just saw a guy flop…I do believe it warranted a tech. We’ve had guys jumping on Nate’s face, guys backing up Marco Belinelli out of bounds. There’s been a lot of plays that didn’t get ejections.”
So you be the judge, were the refs protecting James?
