Judge Judy China Lawsuit Over Dishes

Maybe the tables are finally going to be turned on Judge Judy. Instead of sitting atop the judges throne for her show, she may actually become the defendant in a case that is strange and slightly annoying.

The story goes that someone who used to be married to one of the show’s producers has filed a lawsuit over some stinking dishes. Yes, dishes.

The China is supposedly worth somewhere in the $500,000 range. The problem? It was allegedly sold to Judge Judy for just $50,000. Now the producer’s ex is crying foul and wants to recoup what she believes they should have actually been sold for.

The ex claims that the sale of the Christofle Mary Bone China was part of a scheme to cut her out of the sale of their “community property.”

The crazy part is that the real Judge Judy, whose name is Judith Sheindlin should know all about this stuff. She is a real family law judge, or at least she used to be.

Family law would likely cover the whole issue of divorce and community property, which reports state, includes provisions about both parties having to sign in situations like the one being alleged.

Anyway, it turns out the honorable Judy may not be able to keep her mouth shut over this issue. One site quoted her as saying:

“I have not seen any complaint by the former Mrs. Douthit, however, I don’t owe this lady a cent. And if this 50-year-old woman would spend her time more productively at trying to find a job, instead of abusing the judicial system with frivolous lawsuits, we would all be a lot better off.”

Sounds like someone is taking the side of her producer, eh? Sheesh. I guess even the wealthy are subject to crazy issues like this.
