It is Soap Dish time again and this week I am dishing all about the shocking news that Steve Burton is joining The Young & The Restless!

On Monday Steve announced the news on the CBS show The Talk. It was a big ta do and he seemed pretty darn happy to be joining the #1 soap opera on television right now. I, as I am sure were most fans of Burton’s who have known and loved him as Jason Morgan on General Hospital for about two decades, was totally surprised by this news. I was still trying to adjust to the fact that he was no longer on GH and now he is going to be a completely different character, on a whole other show, wowza.

Before I get into my two cents on this topic lets rehash why Steve decided to join Y&R so soon after not only vacating GH but also after making it clear the reason he was leaving General Hospital was because he was moving his family to Nashville. Well in the below video you will get to see him explain how the events leading him to return to daytime television unfolded. Lets just say his family will still be in Nashville and he will be commuting.

Despite the fact that I would have loved to see Steve Burton return to GH as oppose to join another show, I am thrilled he will be back in the daytime world. I am a huge fan of his, so that being said I am going to now be a faithful viewer of The Young & The Restless. I currently check it out enough to be in the know of what is going on but now that Burton will be on the show, I am going to be an every day viewer. What can I say I have to support one of my favorite all time soap opera actors. It will be weird to see him play a different role but that is show biz right? I hope he plays a character that gets to laugh a little more, smile and not be so serious because Steve has a gorgeous grin.

That is it for this weeks edition of Soap Dish. Be sure to check back next week to see what I am dishing about and make sure to tune in to The Young & The Restless on January 29th to see Steve Burton in his new role. Go Steve Go!
