Kelly Ripa officially has a new co-host and it is none other than former NFL player Michael Strahan.
Even though it was seriously like the worst kept secret ever, today on Live With Kelly it was revealed that Strahan will take the spot next to Kelly, which as you all know was recently vacated by Philbin. Michael has guest hosted the show that will now be call Live With Kelly & Michael a whopping 20 times in just the last two years so it was kind of a given he was going to get the gig. Plus as I said above the news was leaked weeks ago despite ABC’s best efforts to keep it under wraps.
Now that we know who has replaced Reg I want to know do you love it or hate. Actually I guess I would say do you love that Michael was chosen or do you hate it? I am a huge football fan so I have known Michael in the NFL sports aspect for years but I have to say I was kind of surprised by the choice. I have seen him co-host before and he does have great chemistry with Ripa and they seem to play off each other very well but I just thought there were some perhaps stronger candidates.
I was lucky enough to catch the show this morning and I didn’t hate it nor did I hate Michael as a co-host. Like I said I was a little surprised but all in all I think he is going to be awesome. Not only do I think he will be good for ratings, he has a built in fan base that will follow him no doubt just to see how he does on the show but besides that he is actually really good. Strahan has a great persona that comes across well on TV. I know it is a little too early to tell just how he will do but your first gut instinct let me know if you love or hate that he is now Kelly’s co-host.
