This is a sad one either way. Jack Osbourne and his mother Sharon are highly upset with NBC over some recent deals that fell apart. Now they are waging a war online and in the press.
First off, I love the Osbourne family. I actually own the first season of their old reality show on DVD. It was one of the first of the new age reality shows. Yes, they pretty much invented contrived reality back then.
From there on, Sharon became a bigger celebrity than Ozzy (well, at least on TV). And Jack and Kelly began different careers. Their other sibling made a huge mistake by trying to stay out of the spotlight. Don’t know who she is? I’m not surprised. Her name is Amy, and she refused to be on the reality show back then.
So what is the problem now? Well, Jack was “in talks” to be a part of a military-style reality show on NBC called Stars Earn Stripes. I’m guessing it is some sort of celebrity boot camp, because we know that Jack has always been struggling with his weight.
Anywho, Jack was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis in June, and he says that it wasn’t long after that before NBC broke the deal.
Of course, NBC says it’s not the case. They admit they didn’t ink a deal with him, but then they are offering to pay his salary. That doesn’t make sense, right?
Here is how Jack feels about it:
“NBC said they didn’t fire me over my diagnosis? Bull-F**king-SH*T #BoycottNBC…I took part in a 16 hr challenge over 30 miles with a 40lbs ruck on my back in Jan”
I guess Jack was trying to prove that even though he was sick back then he still completed the challenge. He must be trying to say that they can’t use the excuse that he is not capable.
The verdict? We don’t know. It sure is a bad coincidence that he didn’t get the job AFTER he got the diagnosis. Them offering to pay his salary makes them look very guilty. I think we may see some kind of lawsuit coming up soon.
