The man that so many girls go crazy over is in the news for something totally different this week – and it has nothing to do with him at all. Confused yet?
Brad Pitt has a brother named Doug who looks a little bit like him. Doug looks a little but like him, but even the less famous brother says that most people mistake him for Val Kilmer. Honestly, I don’t think he looks like either of them.
Anyway, Doug landed a spot for an ad in Australia. Apparently the commercial was pretty funny because it made it all the way to the united states (watch below).
Even Brad Pitt himself saw it, and Doug says that he got Brad’s blessing before he even took the part.
The commercial is for Virgin Mobile and seems to be a sarcastic version of how boring his life is. I’m guessing it’s a play on how much more normal his life is than his brother’s, who jet-sets around with Angelina’s adopted kids from third world countries.
It starts with him standing in a pretty plain, but nice house. He is listening to music, showing off his computer printer, and even washing his plain white mini-van. I’m guessing that would be very different than Brad’s life, and that’s what makes it so good.
Doug sat down with Matt Lauer of TODAY to talk about the ad, and of course, his ridiculously famous brother.
As for how he looks like Brad and the questions he gets about it, he says:
“Honestly, my eyes glaze over…It’s been these kinds of questions for a long, long time.”
He did admit that he talked to Brad about the ad and felt good that he liked it:
“I did call him and said, ‘Hey, what do you think?’ He said, ‘Do it. It sounds great!…I was out riding my bike and stopped and got a text and it just said, ‘Hey, just saw it. Hilarious.’ So, I was pleased.”
