In the weeks leading up to the epic divorce announcement between Katie Holmes and Tom Cruise, the former Dawson’s Creek star may have hinted a little bit to her fans in ELLE Magazine.
For me, this is the divorce that rocked my world. I’m not saying I didn’t expect it, but I thought that she was so sucked into Tom’s world that she would never make it out alive. Then all of a sudden it happened, and the announcement went public.
But some sources say that she planned it longer than we think. Here are a few snippets from the interview. I will break them down line by line.
“He has been Tom Cruise for 30 years…I know who I am and where I am and where I want to go, so I want to focus on that”
Wow. Yes, he has been Tom Cruise for a bit longer than 30 years. He just turned 50 I think. But what she means is that he is not going to change his ways, and she is not going to mold herself for him. As for saying that she knows “where I want to go,” I think that means that even if his vision of the future is different than her’s, she is going to keep going anyway.
“Things are not handed to anyone…If anything, you work a little bit harder when you’re in such visible circumstances.”
Hmm. Yes, he worked incredibly hard for his fortune. He is a wildly successful actor. I think this is about how hard SHE has to work to make the marriage work, and to not become some kind of Scientology house wife. According to sources and reports, that’s exactly what she felt was happening, and she found a way out.
