Additional details involving the divorce of singer Katy Perry and comedian and actor Russell Brand have emerged after months of speculation surrounding their split.
Details surrounding the divorce between pop singer Katy Perry and her now ex-husband Russell Brand have now come together since the release of ‘Katy Perry: Part of Me’ that debuted in theaters on July 5th. As confirmed by People, Perry’s new behind the scenes look contains more than just the entertainer’s professional life, but her personal life as well.
Seen in the ‘Part of Me’ concert documentary that chronicles her ‘California Dreams’ tour, the twenty-seven year old shares some minor and major details of her short lived marriage to the ‘Forgetting Sarah Marshall’ star that makes fans realize their break-up was due in part to a disagreement over starting a family together.
In one scene Perry is texting back and forth with her husband over jokingly naming their child Ronald after Brand visits a McDonald’s. A short time later the ‘I Kissed a Girl’ singer shares, “A baby can’t have a baby — and I’m still a baby.”
Since the divorce between both Perry and Brand, after just a brief 14 month marriage, a source has since disclosed that the English actor wanted a family. “[Russell] feels there’s no point in being married if you don’t have kids,” the source stated. Adding, he “is ready to move on.”
Perry on the other hand is not, revealing that she is still hurt over the couple’s divorce. “There are times I go out and meet people and flirt, but it’s not really appropriate to have anything serious.” The eccentric superstar also says “I have a second chance on life. To get maybe a better situation. For me, right now, I’m totally not looking. I’m just looking to heal. And I’m on that path. I’m not down on love.”
