It is Soap Dish time again my friends and this week I am dishing about the fabulous news that Eileen Davidson is returning to Days of Our Lives.
This is freaking awesome and the good news that Days needed considering, well all the bad publicity surrounding the show. By that I mean the number of firings and stars choosing to leave the show. But that is for another column this week is happy news, Eileen is returning to the role of Kristen Blake. As you may or may not remember Davidson played Kristen from 1993-1998. She is the adopted sister of EJ, which should be interesting considering that if I remember correctly Susan, EJ’s mother, was also Kristen’s sister. It was a crazy storyline back in the day and I can’t recall all the specifics but I do know she also played Susan Banks, Sister Mary Moira, Thomas and Penelope Kent. I think I might have to go look up some old video clips of all these characters and that crazy story to remind me what went down.
I am super psyched that Days is bringing back the character of Kristen. I mean with Lexie gone and Stefano dead EJ needs some family around him right now. Plus can you imagine the affect this will have on John and Marlena. Wowza I see some good story lines in the future. Soap Opera Digest is reporting that fans won’t see Kristen until October. There has been speculation that the actress would return to the NBC soap the second she was let go from The Young and The Restless. I think she is a phenomenal actress and am thrilled that with the loss of Renee Jones, Matthew Ashford and soon Peter Reckell that Eileen will help fill that gap. I was getting a little bit frustrated with the show but this gives me oh so much hope.
