So it’s official. This is going to be one of the ugliest, most publicized divorces in our modern history. As sad as that sounds, it is most likely true.
That was proven today when we learned that Katie Holmes, the actress who is trying desperately to get herself and her daughter away from Tom Cruise, is now looking for emergency custody.
It’s one thing to file for divorce and try to get full custody. It’s another to try to get a judge to order that you get that custody RIGHT NOW.
That’s exactly what the girl I used to watch on Dawson’s Creek is doing to the hunk from Top Gun. She is really pulling out the big guns. I even heard on “source” go on a rant about how harsh Katie’s lawyers are. It’s to the point of real ugliness.
Apparently this is rare for a celebrity to do. She must truthfully be afraid for the safety and well-being of Suri because this means the case is no longer going to be handled behind closed doors. Any one who lives in New York can just show up and watch the proceedings.
Also, this means that the whole thing will be cracked wide open for a judge to rule on. The hearing is set for July 17, and should be one of the biggest celebrity news stories since Michael Jackson’s death.
I think it might be easy to convince a judge that the crazy Scientology stuff is bad for a kid. If she can prove that some of the things we are reading about really happen, Tom may not even stand a chance. Some people go so far as to call it a cult, and if that mentality stands in the eyes of this judge, Katie could really make a splash.
We will have to wait and see…
