Last night on the latest episode of Gene Simmons Family Jewels the subject of Shannon wanting an adoption came to a final conclusion. This has been a long and tortured road for the Simmons family as Gene, along with their children, Nick and Sophie, have been opposed to Shannon adopting a baby. Meaning, her sister Tracy also reached a major decision on her desire to use her last frozen embryo and have a baby as well. So how did it all go down?

The show begins with Shannon telling Tracy all about the trip to Africa and how her plan to get Gene in the mood for adopting may have backfired. Meanwhile, Gene is consoled by both Dr. Ann Wexler, his marriage therapist, as well as by his son Nick, to be direct and honest with Shannon about his reservations. Back at Tracy′s house, Emily, her oldest daughter, arrives after a chat with cousin Sophie about Tracy′s obsession with having another baby. Emily is concerned about her mom′s age and health, but seems to cave in when Tracy discusses the subject with her.
Back at Casa Simmons, Gene spills the beans that evening to Shannon as he tells her he does not think adoption is a good idea and does not want to go through with it. This peeves Shannon, who gives Gene the silent treatment. The next morning, she splits early without saying a word to him. Shannon visits Tracy to whine about Gene but instead finds Tracy having a hormonal breakdown of her own. As the two sisters support each other, Gene talks with Wexler again and the possibility of Shannon leaving him again comes up. This scares Gene into changing his mind about adopting.
The next day, Shannon is surprised when the social worker arrives to interview Gene again. The meeting goes well, however, there are still more hurdles to cross. Shannon is surprised that Gene is now a go on adoption. She has a private session with Dr. Wexler and the subject of why Gene changed his mind seems to make Shannon realize that she may be putting too much pressure on him.
The social worker contacts Shannon to tell her that they have two potential children available for them, but that they still need some additional documentation and they need to interview Gene, Nick and especially Sophie before they can go forward. They know that Nick is opposed but they have not had a full interview with Sophie yet. Shannon goes with Tracy on a couple of her medical check-ups, including an ultra-sound of her uterus. Shannon actually uses her phone camera to take snaps of Tracy′s ovaries!
Finally, the whole story line comes to a conclusion. Shannon gathers Gene, Nick and Sophie and tells them that she has decided to end her campaign to adopt a baby. Whew, talk about close calls! Meanwhile, Tracy meets with her doctor to go over test results. The bad news is that at 48, the lining of her uterus is not currently ideal for doing an embryo implant. So the vitamins and hormones she has been taking will be stopped for 30 days and they will then reevaluate her situation. The doctor also tells her that the technology used to freeze her embryo 8 years ago was such that after 7 years it has begun to degrade. So Tracy is out of the baby business for now. The episode of Gene Simmons Family Jewels ends with Shannon explaining her decision to the social worker at the adoption agency and offers to help support them in other ways. Yea!
