Holy cow, have you seen the photos of Rachel, called the Ridiculously Photogenic Surgery Girl. She has become the latest Internet meme and has gone completely viral. Check out her glamorous pictures here!
Rachel underwent a surgery after being diagnosed with congenital emphysema after contracting pneumonia. She lost 60 percent of her lung. She posted on Reddit under the ad that said “Ask Me Anything”.
Instead of caring about the questions, people on the site were a lot more amazing at how amazing she looked after going through something so invasive.
Some of the comments were very flattering, like one that read “Loses 60% of her lung, wins 100% of my heart.”
That comment made its way onto one of those viral photos that gets zapped around the web. It sounds like she found some of the comments online herself, and after reading them was pretty touched.
She wrote:
“People have been saying so many nice things about me the last few days… I’ve never felt more beautiful.”
It was no small operation either. According to Rachel, they briefly stopped her pain medication given through epidural and it was excruciating:
“They stopped my epidural for awhile [sic] yesterday. I wanted to die. My incisions and tubes and lungs were on fire. I wanted to scream but moving and making noise made it worse. I thought I was going to pass out from holding my breath. I’m scared right now…”
Even with all of the hype about how she looks, some people truthfully took interest in the procedure and her recovery. She was still apparently getting quizzed about how she was doing and what she was going through.
For now she will go down in meme history along with that really happy marathon guy. I think it’s just a little overblown, but I’m glad she is doing okay.
