Finally back from another break, Hart of Dixie made its return with a new episode that featured Zoe’s successful surgeon father, Lemon’s plans to take out Zoe Hart once and for all, and the Rammer Jammer’s anniversary celebration.  Get the details on the episode entitled ‘Heart To Hart’ below.

Fans were finally introduced to the father of Zoe Hart tonight.  Zoe’s dad, who helped raise her but is not her biological father, was portrayed by actor Gary Cole, and let’s just say he’s even colder than Zoe has described.

Showing up to perform an operation on George’s father, Ethan Hart wants his daughter to scrub in.  A real opportunity for Zoe that ends on a sad note when he wants to be just her colleague and friend now that she knows he isn’t her real dad.  At the same time Lemon is now plotting to get rid of Zoe for good after she becomes a top level threat to her and her relationship with George.  Since Zoe knows about Lavon and Lemon, Bluebell’s number one socialite thinks Zoe will be using the information to her advantage, prepping to take George away for good.  Lemon’s game plan – to become best friends with Zoe!  Meanwhile, Lavon and Wade are spending some bonding time while Wade attempts to come up with the winning cocktail that will help him take home prize money from the Rammer Jammer anniversary.

Things come to a breaking point when a post surgery celebration dinner turns ugly.  Finally too angry to keep up with this new friendship she has with her dad, Zoe explodes on him in the middle of Lemon’s house while the only two guests, George and Lemon can’t help but overhear.  Zoe puts an end to Lemon’s annoying charade as well, telling her to cut the crap while laughing at her.  Zoe has no intention of telling George about what she knows and tells Lemon she won’t be portraying Lavon’s trust.  Zoe may have issues with her family and her fiends with Bluebell but she has her head on straight when it comes to right and wrong and she seems to be the only sane one in this week’s episode.

By the show’s end Zoe’s dad has had a change of heart and is willing to let his guard down.  Admitting that he was wrong, he shows his softer side.  We also saw a softer side to Zoe in this episode.  Things between Lemon and George also get a little better with George apologizing for his bad attitude over his dad’s illness.

On next week’s April 16th episode Justin Hartley, Smallville’s Green Arrow, will be making an appearance as Zoe’s new love interest by the name of Jesse.  Described by the CW, Bachelorettes & Bullets will follow Zoe as she “makes a romantic connection with one of her patients, Jesse (guest star Hartley), and accepts his invitation to lunch.  Lemon (Jaime King) agrees to let Magnolia (guest star Claudia Lee) plan her bachelorette party as long as she follows Lemon’s strict instructions, but Magnolia has some more “interesting” plans in store for her big sister.  Wade (Wilson Bethel) plans a hunting trip for George’s (Scott Porter) bachelor party.  Cress Williams also stars.”
