The Dallas Mavericks and Lamar Odom are dunzo! Yes Khloe and her hubby are bidding adieu to Dallas and headed back home to L.A.
After barely a season as a player for the Dallas Mavericks, Odom and the NBA team have reached an agreement to part ways. According to ESPN Odom released this statement regarding the news.
“The Mavericks and I have mutually agreed that it’s in the best interest of both parties for me to step away from the team. I’m sorry that things didn’t work out better for both of us, but I wish the Mavs’ organization, my teammates and Dallas fans nothing but continued success in the defense of their championship.”
Lamar will be listed as inactive for the rest of the season. Apparently the team is listing him that was as opposed to releasing him because it will give Odom the possibility of being traded once the current season is done.
With so little time spent as a Maverick, what went wrong between the NBA player and his new team? Well there is speculation that issues in his private life as well as his struggles to excel on the court were deciding factors, as you may recall he did leave the team temporarily not that long ago for personal reasons. Honestly the only ones who really know the whole story are the coaches and Lamar and I think that is as it should be. As for what is next for the Odom, who knows it is anyone’s guess. He could try to get traded and continue to play the game or he could retire from the sport he loves. I am a huge fan of Lamar and Khloe’s so I hope that he does something that makes them both truly happy. It is a whole new adventure for them so I say best of luck to them.
