It was Simpsons mania in Springfield, Vermont Saturday, where “The Simpsons Movie” made its premiere. You can see more photos and video below. Springfield, Vermont was the winner of a USA Today contest to see which Springfield town across the U.S. would get the coveted honor of hosting the world premiere of “The Simpsons Movie”. There were 15,367 votes registered for this quaint New England town, beating out 14 other Springfields across the country.
Homer, Marge, Bart, Maggie and Lisa walked the “yellow carpet” along with creator Matt Groening. He was taken aback by the many fans that turned out for the premiere:
“We knew that wherever the real Springfield was there would be a lot of enthusiasm. This is unbelievable.”

And no one even mentioned us in the public ceremony outside the theater. Read more at our new website
