The upcoming fourth season of Teen Mom will be the last season for the original cast members. Yep the original four who were cast from the first season of 16 and Pregnant will no longer have their own show, sadly though that doesn’t mean that Teen Mom is going away for good.
MTV shared the news that after four seasons Farrah Abraham, Maci Bookout, Catelynn Lowell and Amber Portwood will no longer be a part of the Teen Mom series. Yep the four that made Teen Mom the hit it is today are getting the boot but the network is saying that just because they will not have their own show doesn’t mean the girls are no longer part of the MTV family. Oh and that they will continue to make a positive impact on the teenage pregnancy prevention, yeah because they are such great role models.
Even though Maci, Farrah, Amber and Catelynn will longer be on the show that does not mean the show is ending. Teen Mom 2 just finished its second season and MTV has no plans to scrape it at this time. Plus there are some serious rumors that the network is in the process of developing Teen Mom 3 from some of the more recent seasons of 16 and Pregnant. Personally I think that both versions of the show suck but I realize it is a ratings goldmine so MTV is not going to stop producing it any time soon.
I could go on and on about why I am not a fan of this show but I won’t. I will say that I hope these girls will take themselves out of the spotlight and truly focus on their children or in Catelynn’s case on the life she wanted. All the fame and fortune they have found the past couple of years is going to go away so here is hoping they all build good lives for themselves.
