A new teaser trailer for the adaption of the novel On The Road with Sam Riley of Control, Tron’s Garrett Hedlund, and The Twilight Saga’s Kristen Stewart has been released for fans awaiting the debut of the 1940’s story from the iconic writer Jack Kerouac. The adaption is based on his own personal experiences in his younger years.
The trailer features actor Sam Riley in the role of the main character Sal Paradise, a young and free writer, who goes on a road trip with his friend, the smooth talking Dean Moriarty, played by Hedlund, and his carefree wife Mary Lou, portrayed by Kristen Stewart.
Talking with MTV about preparing for her role, Kristen Stewart said that before filming she attended beatnik boot camp with her co-stars. “That’s going to be amazing, because I haven’t read everything [the Beat Generation] read. There’s a huge education process that’s going to take place with the whole cast. It’s a small movie, so to have that much time is just awesome.”
On The Road comes from director Walter Salles and script writer Jose Rivera. The movie also stars a cast ensemble of Viggo Mortensen of The Lord of the Rings, Steve Buscemi from Boardwalk Empire, Spiderman’s Kirsten Dunst, Amy Adams of The Man of Steel, and Tom Sturridge from Waiting for Forever.
Watch the new trailer featuring Kristen Stewart like you’ve never seen her before, Hedlund at his usual best, and the talented Riley leading the pack below. On The Road will hit the Cannes Film Festival this coming May before making its way to theaters sometime this year.
