“The Artist” was a big winner of the night, taking home five Oscars, including Best Picture, Best Director and a Best Actor win for its star, Jean Dujardin. “Hugo” tied “The Artist” with five Oscars as well. Who else took home trophies tonight? We’ve got the complete list below!
Meryl Streep, who has been nominated for an Oscar 17 times, has now won the award for the third time, beating out Viola Davis of “The Help” in the Best Actress category.
Speaking of “The Help”, Octavia Spencer won Best Supporting Actress for her portrayal as sassy Minny Jackson. She was overcome with emotion as she thanked her family, Alabama and her co-stars. Love that she won tonight!
Christopher Plummer added yet another award to his mantle in the Best Supporting Actor category for his role in “Beginners”. No surprise there whatsoever, as he was a favorite to win.
And hey, what did you think of Billy Crystal? Tonight marked the return of his ninth time as host, and eh, he was just okay for me.
Without further ado, here’s the complete list of the 2012 Oscar winners.
