Toady while attending a private funeral for the musical legend Etta James, Christina Aguilera sang one of Etta’s most famous songs ‘At Last”. It was beautiful and you can see the heartwarming video below.
Stevie Wonder, Rev. Al Sharpton and Christina were all part of a service to say to good-bye to a woman who certainly left her stamp on the music industry. President Obama even wrote a letter that was read by Sharpton at the service, which was held at Greater Bethany Community Church City of Refuge.
Yes it was a day of honoring the amazing Etta and Christina did that by singing one of my favorite songs by James, ‘At Last”. Now I know that Aguilera has gotten a lot of flack lately in the media for her weight but I must say the chick can sing and I am sure that Etta would have been so proud to hear her song sung so well Christina. I mean seriously when you watch the below video you better have a box of issues next to you because it will make you cry.
It is truly a performance by The Voice star that we haven’t seen in a long time. I think it was a perfect tribute to James and Christina should be very proud of herself. People can talk all the crap they want about Aguilera but one thing that cannot be disputed is the girl has a killer voice and she proved that once again today.
Along with Aguilera’s rendition of ‘At Last’ Stevie Wonder also performed ‘Shelter In The Rain’ which too was amazing but really it was Christina that stood out today. However let us not forget today was about celebrating the life of Etta James and on that note I want to know any thoughts you have on James or Aguilera.
