OMG did you see Steve Tyler sing the national anthem at the AFC Championship game today? If not then you missed a horrendous rendition of the infamous song. Seriously it was god-awful and I have the video to prove it.

As I sat here anxiously awaiting the AFC Championship game between the Baltimore Ravens and the New England Patriots I got the oh so not great pleasure of listening to Tyler belt out the national anthem. To say he was bad is an understatement, it literally hurt my ears listening to him sing or attempt to sing I should day.

When Steven was first announced I thought he was kind of a rather odd choice but then I was told he was a Patriots fan, not sure if that is true or not but it is what I was told. Anyway I just so happened to not be paying attention to the TV when the performance began but boy did I quickly tune in as soon as I heard his voice because it was painful. I honestly can’t describe to you how bad it was, all I can say is it sucked.

I understand that Tyler is not as on top of his game as he used to be, I mean he is old and has had a rough life and that takes a toll on a singer’s vocal chords. That being said I really think he should stop singing because his Aerosmith days are clearly behind him. Maybe I am being too harsh but I am still in shock at how bad he sang the national anthem. Maybe I just haven’t heard him sing in a long time or maybe he was just having an off day but all I can say is I really don’t need to hear him sing anything for a really long time.

Well there you have my oh so harsh opinion on this, now I want to know what you think so let’s hear it. Come on, I know you have something to say or you will once you watch the below video.

I thought it was pretty decent. I listened a few times and noticed a few tiny slips, but only because I was really looking for them. Its on a loudspeaker which doesn’t have the best sound quality. He seemed to hit most of the tones in his voice. 98% of anything that was low quality was the sound system, not the singer. I get a chill when someone puts all there effort into that song because of what it stands for. That is what Tyler did!

This was an AWESOME rendition!! There is just not enough real Rock-N-Roll anymore so ya’all don’t really know what it sounds like! Tyler is a legend and looked and sounded just like one!

Are you kidding? That was a great rock-n-roll singer doing it. You are missing the point of the sound system, remember there are no instruments. Unreal he sang it perfect (didn’t miss a word)so few have done that. You could also tell he meant it (is proud to be an American). You really have no realization of how the average person would sound.Hey Steve you did us proud!
