2011 American Music Awards Winners List (PHOTOS & VIDEOS)

We’ve got the 2011 American Music Awards winners list here! Did you catch the show? What did you think of it? Taylor Swift won three awards, winning in all three categories she was nominated in – Artist of the Year, beating out Katy Perry, Lil Wayne, Adele and Lady Gaga, Favorite Female Country Artist, besting Sara Evans and Miranda Lambert and her ‘Speak Now’ album beat out Jason Aldean and The Band Perry for Favorite Country Album. It was just two weeks ago that she won Entertainer of the Year at the Country Music Awards for the second time. Taylor is on fire!

Adele also won three awards, but of course she was not there as she is recuperating from throat surgery she had earlier this month. She won the awards for Favorite Female Artist, Favorite Album in the Pop category, and Favorite Artist in the Adult Contemporary Music category. Here’s hoping she is recuperating nicely!

Nicki Minaj was first on board to perform her hits ‘Super Bass’ and ‘Turn Me On’ with David Guetta. She won two trophies last night, Favorite Rap/Hip-Hop Artist and Favorite Rap/Hip-Hop Album (Pink Friday).

The first winner of the night was Maroon 5, winning in the category of Pop/Rock Favorite Band, Duo or Group. I can’t believe that this is their first AMA. Adam Levine said backstage, “We want to win a Grammy, an Academy Award, the Super Bowl and an Emmy.” They later performed their hit ‘Moves Like Jagger’ with Christina Aguilera. After that, Adam walked over and joined Gym Class Heroes to perform ‘Stereo Hearts’.

Bruno Mars beat out Justin Bieber for Favorite Pop/Rock Male Artist, leaving many Beliebers heartbroken. But no worries, the teen heartthrob performed ‘Under the Mistletoe’ off of his Christmas album that was released earlier this month.

While Katy Perry did not receive any awards last night, after her amazing performance of ‘One That Got Away’, she received a surprise award for having five #1 singles from her album ‘Teenage Dream’.

The finale was…errr…interesting. LMFAO performed with Justin Bieber appearing on stage to add some dance moves and um, David Hasselhoff? Really?! Check it out below.
