Nicole Richie is scheduled to go on trial this Wednesday, July 11th. She was arrested December 11th and plead not guilty to a misdemeanor charge of DUI. She had also been convicted of a previous misdemeanor DUI charge in June 2003. In California, if you’re convicted of a DUI twice within 10 years, you can be sentenced to 90 days to a year in jail and have your driving privileges suspended. So, in light of her recent confirmation of her pregnancy, do you think that will play a role in her upcoming trial? I say…you do the crime, you do the time.
Her father, Lionel Richie, says that “She’s just in an unfortunate situation.” Well damn right she is but she brought it all on herself. What sucks for her and certainly not in her favor is the fact that her Simple Life co-star just got done serving 23 days in jail. People are not going to be very sympathetic to her celebrity status and hopefully not towards her pregnancy either. These spoiled kids need a taste of what the “real life” is.
