Who Wins Dancing With the Stars?

As we approach the finale on Monday many are speculating who will take home the infamous mirror ball trophy. So far picking the top two has been pretty easy as week by week we see the weaker dancers exciting the dance floor. We are now down to the final three: Ricki Lake, JR Martinez and Rob Kardashian.

All of the dancers left have definitely come a long way. Up until now, Ricki and JR have been battling, but in a friendly way, for the first spot. JR has now suffered an ankle injury which could affect his performance on Monday. Rob Kardashian has improved steadily and has snuck into the third spot. Who would have thought Rob would have made it to the final three. Will the person with the best ability win or with the saddest story of their past life help determine who will win?

Ricki Lake’s story includes where she was molested in her own home, which caused her to turn to food to make her feel better. Ricki never gave up and eventually landed a lead in the play “Hairspray.” Afterwards, she lost 100 pounds and became a talk show host. Her determination causes her to still want to do better after each dance as she is extremely hard on herself. Viewers may definitely feel some comparison to themselves and vote for Ricki.

JR, whose story we know well (he was burned in a truck as he drove over a land mine in Iraq). Last week he suffered an injury in rehearsal and twisted his ankle. It affected his first dance causing a low score but still persevered and made it through the Tango with solid scores of 9′s.

What we know about Rob’s past is that he had lack of direction and goals in his life because of his father’s early death and the strong personalities of his famous sisters. He proved he could graduate from the University of California, like his father, but struggled soon after. He has continued to work hard in this competition and is very likeable by the audience. Last week he won the Cha Cha Relay ahead of Ricki and JR.

So who has the most touching story and who is the best dancer and will that be the same person ?
