Here’s Beyonce Knowles performing at the Essence Music Festival in New Orleans last night..striking some Barbie doll-like poses. Also on the bill for the festival was Ludacris, Ciara, Robin Thicke, Mary J. Blige, Chris Brown and Kelly Rowland.
Beyonce’s performance in Dreamgirls was apparently impressive enough to get another offer to take a shot at acting. The Broadway musical Aida by Elton John is getting the big-screen treatment from the Disney studios and Beyonce has been offered the title role…and she’s the only one under consideration. So if she doesn’t do it…the film won’t be made!
I finally saw Dreamgirls a few week ago. Considering some of the performances the musicians-turned-actors have turned out (i.e. Britney Spears in Crossroads or Mariah Carey in Glittter), I wasn’t expecting much. She wasn’t embarrassing to watch!
