It was Broadway Week last night during Week 6 of DWTS. Of the remaining seven couples, who is in jeopardy of going home tonight? Chaz and Lacy had the lowest score of the evening, 19, followed by Hope and Maks with a score of 20. Speaking of Maks, what did you think of his little tirade and cocky comments? It didn’t bode well with me, and I’m sure the results will probably reflect that.
A quick recap from last night:
After last week’s sexy Rumba, I was disappointed with Rob & Cheryl’s Cha Cha. I expected Rob to up the ante and improve once again, as we have seen him do the last several weeks. While Len thought that it was clean and precise, there was no rhythm. With a total score of 22, Rob may find himself in jeopardy this week.
Nancy Grace did a great job with her Foxtrot, showing off more of her personality and looking more relaxed on the dance floor. She received her first 9 this season, from Carrie Ann, with a total score of 24.
For David & Kim, their Quickstep was a bit off, and like Carrie Ann said, they were out of sync. No doubt they had the energy, but I wasn’t totally impressed. Their total score for the night: 23.
Ricki Lake wanted to redeem herself after last week’s forgettable Foxtrot, and she came back fighting for that top spot by performing an amazing Quickstep. The judges loved it and the audience gave her a standing O. Two perfect scores from Carrie Ann and Bruno, plus a 9 from Len gives them 29 points for the night!
Last week we saw Chaz dance more than he has ever danced this season. I was hoping that he would continue the trend and blow us all away this week, so I was excited to hear he would be performing to Phantom of the Opera. I guess I saw something completely different from the judges, because I loved it! The judges weren’t so keen to his dance, giving him a total of 19 points, the lowest of the night.
And now we come to Hope and Maks. Their Rumba to Rent’s ‘Seasons of Love’ was just okay for me, and it didn’t ooze the total sexiness that the dance warrants. Len told Hope that it was her worst dance of the season and Maks was none too happy with that comment. After Len said he’d been in the business for 50 years, Maks told him ‘maybe it’s time to get out of the business’. Carrie Ann blasted Maks and told him not to be ‘disrespectful’. He later told Brooke Burke Charvet, ‘With all due respect, this is my show. I helped make it what it is’. They ended up with 20 points last night.
I will say it again, J.R. Martinez should win…it…all! He has been the only consistent contestant throughout the season, and last night he did not disappoint! His Quickstep performance was fabulous! Karina was seen in rehearsal telling J.R. that this routine by far was the most difficult she has ever attempted, but she knew that he would be able to pull it off. He did and much more! I can see them hoisting that mirror ball trophy in the air right now… Two perfect scores from Carrie Ann and Bruno, plus a 9 from Len – 29 pts for the night, tied with Ricki and Derek to top the leaderboard.
Thoughts on who should be going home tonight? Chaz? Hope? We will soon find out. Stay tuned for my Elimination Recap later tonight.
