With Breaking Dawn star Taylor Lautner’s movie Abduction movie headed to theaters this coming week, Moviehole has divulged that director John Singleton is already talking about a second installment for the action film. Could there be an Abduction 2 with Lautner toplining the show? Get the details below.
Although Abduction from director John Singleton hasn’t entered the box office arena just yet, Singleton seems confident that his action flick, starring Taylor Lautner as a “young man who sets out to uncover the truth about his life after finding his baby photo on a missing persons website,” is worth following up on.
Talking to the L.A. Times, “definitely,” was the director’s response to the question of whether or not he plans to keep going with Abduction. Having not seen the movie, it’s hard to tell where Singleton would go with the plot, but the Four Brothers helmer most likely has left a door open for another installment. Time will tell.
According to the Times, the possibilities where presented while filming the film that stars Lautner, with a supporting cast line-up of Lily Collins, Alfred Molina, Holly Scott Cavanuagh, and several others.
“We’ve been talking about it while we’re making the movie. Of course, I’m gonna direct it,” he grinned, speaking from the premiere of the film in Hollywood Thursday night.”
Singleton isn’t worried about Abduction taking a nose dive either. “I don’t think we have to worry about that,” he said. “It’s happening.” As for whether Lautner will reprise his role, the actor has seemed content about the movie and his performance while working the promotional circuit. It looks like Abduction 2 is a go!
Meanwhile, Lautner is slated to appear in the movie Incarceron, with a rumored attachment to the motion picture Goliath. The Twilight star’s appearance in Breaking Dawn part one and two are also on the way.
Abduction opens in theaters on September 23rd.
