Ryan Gosling: Hollywood Star, Peacemaker & Eligible Bachelor

August 27, 2011

Ryan Gosling has been popping up all over Hollywood these days, and the Big Apple. Between breaking up street fights, professing his loyalties to his career and taking on an extensive list of roles, Gosling seems to be in high demand, and on a roll.

It was only days ago Ryan Gosling made headlines for ending a New York street fight. The Drive actor apparently came across a robbery in the making. Stepping up, Gosling made the best of the situation, ending a scuffle and paying one man who was upset over the loss of a painting. The incident was caught on tape, showing Gosling in street clothes, looking like a normal passerby, until being recognized.

Who doesn’t recognize the star who became a household name since appearing alongside his former girlfriend Rachel McAdams in 2004’s The Notebook? The actor recently told Esquire the opposite though. Since, Gosling has been taking on regular roles until recently. His plate appears to be overflowing with movies, and a range of roles that has made many take notice of his overall capability on playing the love struck, a man of action or a suspected killer.

Right now, Gosling who is constantly hit with a barrage of questions on the red carpet, mainly about his love life, appears to be in deep with his acting career, and not looking to do much else at the moment, making him one of Hollywood’s most eligible bachelors, and the subject of dating rumors. The most recent rumored relationship for Gosling is Emma Stone, who is also been linked to Andrew Garfield as well.

“Who am I dating? “I’m dating this movie,” Ryan recently replied when out promoting his movie Drive this past June.

After appearing in the real, and very raw picture Blue Valentine alongside co-star Michelle Williams, the thirty-one year old was off and running with his next project, 2010’s All Good Things, where he would play David Marks opposite Kirsten Dunst. Marks was accused of killing his wife in 1982. Although it wasn’t a box office great for Ryan, it proved once again that the actor was capable of playing a range of different characters.

This year alone, the native from Canada, is already working on three new movies. Switching gears from the role of Marks, Gosling moved on to star alongside Steve Carrell in Crazy Stupid Love, as well as the action movie Drive. The movie, due out September 16th, follows a “Hollywood stunt performer who moonlights as a wheel man discovers that a contract has been put on him after a heist gone wrong.”

And the list doesn’t end there. One of Hollywood’s biggest stars, who recently compared his fame to being in a dream, is also attached to a new string of flicks, The Ides of March, The Place Beyond the Pines, Only God Forgives, and The Gangster Squad.

“It’s like being in a dream. You don’t know anybody, but everybody knows you, everybody reacts to you. You can be walking along in a dream, through a pretty normal world, and then bam, everything seems to be a response to your presence. Everything seems to be driven by you. And that’s notable at first, and you deal with it. And then — and it happens every time — you become aware it’s a dream. Right about then, when you think you have it figured, and that acknowledging that will make it easier, it inevitably becomes a nightmare.”

Whether a nightmare or not, it looks like Gosling is here to stay for a while.
