Ryan Reynolds has sold his first television series, entitled Guidance, to Fox. Inking a deal with the network through his production company Dark Fire, (owned with his partner Allan Loeb), the project is described as a dark comedy that will take place at a high school. Not too much else was revealed about the plot, but it looks like Reynolds has already found his leading performer, with more casting on the way.

The show will star actor Tyler Labine of Mad Love fame. Labine and Reynolds will also co-executive produce Guidance together, as well as Jonathon Komack Martin (The Change-Up, Van Wilder). Allan Loeb (The Switch, 21), and Steve Pearl (Untraceable). ‘Role Models’ and ‘Just Go With It’ writer Tim Dowling is also on board to pen the episodes of TV shows, which will be a single camera comedy.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, “Fox has committed to a premium script with significant penalty.” More news surrounding the show is sure to be on the way. Meanwhile, Reynolds, who was seen on the small screen in My Boys and Zero Man, is attached to a string of upcoming projects. Reynolds will be headed to Boston soon to start filming on his new movie R.I.P.D. with co-stars Jeff Bridges, Kevin Bacon and Stephanie Szostak of Dinner for Schmucks fame.

He is also attached to star in the 2014 movie ‘Deadpool,’ as the title character, the film ‘Safe House’, and both The Croods and Turbo, a movie about a “garden snail with dreams of becoming the fastest snail in the world.”
