Kat Von D has had her fair share of ups and downs this past year. After everything she has gone through, another blow to the 29-year-old, TLC has canceled her show, LA Ink. The fourth season premiered last month, days after it was announced that she and fiance Jesse James had split.
Hmm, which TLC show will be canceled next? Earlier this week the network axed Kate Plus 8 (thank God, let’s not even go there). TLC issued a statement regarding the cancellation.
“TLC has decided that the current season of LA Ink will be its last. The network is proud of what the series has accomplished in its four seasons, following Kat Von D’s journey as an artist from Miami to Los Angeles. The series finale will air September 15th at 10 p.m.”
As we all know, the past year has been pretty crappy for the tattoo artist. Last November, her beloved cat Valentine died when her Los Angeles home burned to the ground. 2011 did start off well – she and Jesse James announced that they were engaged and planning a summer wedding, it was later revealed that they would say their ‘I do’s’ on the anniversary of their first date. Six months later, their engagement was off. Days later, the premiere of LA Ink revealed the two happy and very much in love. Ouch. That definitely had to have been hard to watch on their part. No real reason was given behind their split, we can only guess that the long distance between them may have been a factor – she in L.A. and he in Austin. Star Magazine claimed that Kat had an affair with Bam Margera and that is what caused the two to break-up. That got the blogosphere in a tizzy. The affair was denied by both parties and once again, a case of the tabloid running a story without merit.
Kat just posted on Twitter:
“I love how me deciding to not continue doing LA Ink, turns into being ‘cancelled’. thanks @TLC. Regardless of everything I remain grateful.
Please standby for a more in depth, more honest statement regarding LA Ink.”
On to bigger and better things, Kat! Your show will be missed!
