It will no doubt be one of the most watched premieres this fall when Ashton Kutcher makes his debut on Two and a Half Men. Kutcher covers the September issue of Details Magazine where he talks a bit about his new role and all things social.

Ashton Kutcher Details

The 33-year-old actor is returning to the small screen, after a five year hiatus from a sitcom, when he appears on Two and a Half Men this fall. He told the mag:

“I’ve been flirting with going back to TV for a while. When this opportunity came up, I thought to myself, why not?”

While there’s not a week that goes by without mention of Kutcher as Charlie Sheen’s replacement in the popular CBS comedy, the powers that be at the network are hoping for a ratings boon come September 19th, when the show returns for a ninth season. Kutcher and the rest of the cast taped the premiere episode last Friday night, and by now you’ve probably heard what has happened to Charlie Harper. The ladies man meets an untimely death with a subway, this, according to his alleged new wife, crazy Rose. Enter Kutcher, who plays Walden Schmidt, an internet billionaire who buys Charlie’s home.

It was revealed today that Kutcher is currently the highest paid actor on TV, earning $750,000 per episode. Not bad for Mr. Demi Moore, eh? TV Guide adds, it is considerably less than what Charlie Sheen was making per ep, a reported $1.2 million.

As Details pointed out to the actor, his Twitter account is still in the Top 10 and widely popular. They asked what his secret was to having amassed so many followers.

“A lot of people use social media to share mundane things or for self-glorification. I try to use it to share interesting things with people. The other important thing about social media is that it’s not about what you post but what you listen to. It’s about sharing the valuable ideas that you hear. You don’t want to be the source of everything, you want to be the pipe for everything.”

It’s no wonder he has over 7 million followers, right? It was through Twitter that Kutcher was sent well wishes by Sheen, telling Details, “I don’t know him. I’ve never met him in my life. But, you know, he sent me congratulations and wished me well. Via Twitter.”

So don’t forget to grab your copy of Ashton Kutcher’s Details interview, available now on newsstands in New York and Los Angeles, with a nationwide release on August 16th. Will you be tuning in for the premiere of 2.5?
