Lee Pace Cast In ‘Lincoln’

Lee Pace fans will be ecstatic about the latest news surrounding the actor’s involvement in Steven Spielberg’s ‘Lincoln’. Get the details here with the low down on where else Pace will be showing his talented face next.

Pushing Daisies star Lee Pace has been cast in director Steven Spielberg forthcoming film adaption ‘Lincoln’, based on the best selling book ‘Team of Rivals’ from writer Doris Kearns Goodwin. Spielberg’s latest project in the works will chronicle President Lincoln and the men of his cabinet who at one time disliked the sixteenth president.

The political piece will reportedly delve into the conclusion of the Civil War, and if its anything like Goodwin’s examination of Lincoln, the movie will also dial in on his success as an “indispensable ingredient” of the War.

Boarding the film as a supporting character, Pace has been brought on to play the role Fernando Wood, the former mayor of New York, and supporter of the Confederacy. Certainly climbing the Hollywood ladder, and fast, Pace joins Spielberg’s super team of seasoned actors such as Daniel Day-Lewis, Tommy Lee Jones, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, the great Sally Field, Tim Blake Nelson, and more.

Filming on ‘Lincoln’ will begin this fall with the schedule release date of 2012. The cast and crew will reportedly be shooting on location in Virginia. Meanwhile, Pace is also attach to star in The Hobbit’s two installments, There and Back Again and An Unexpected Journey, playing the character Thranduil.

Continuing with successful franchises, Lee is also attached to the Twilight franchise as well, and is set to make an appearance both Breaking Dawn’s Part One and Two as Garrett. He has also landed the role of Matt in the 2011 comedy picture ’30 Beats’, a story that follows “a chain reaction of encounters between characters connected by the laws of sexual attraction – and the twists and quirks that disrupt these laws.”
