Twilight actor Peter Facinelli has announced his plans to produce a Whitey Bulger movie! Get the low down on Facinelli’s new project centered on the notorious Boston gangster who managed to allude officials for over sixteen years below.
Actor Peter Facinelli, who’s known to Twilight fans as Edward Cullen’s wise vampire father figure, Carlisle, has shared via Facebook that he will be producing a Whitey Bulger movie based on the 2003 novel ‘Soldier Street’ that was penned by author Edward McKenzie Junior.
“I’m producing a Whitey Bulger movie based on book ‘Street Soldier’ with Brookstreet Pictures,” Facinelli said on his Facebook page.
Facinelli plans on collaborating with BrookStreet Pictures CEO Trevor Matthews on the film adaption, and it looks like they may have already worked out, and completed a script that’s ready to go. Since the Winter Hill gang leader’s capture last week, I’m sure ‘Departed’ Movie sales have picked up, along with plans for several movie ideas channeling the mobsters life and sixteen years on the run. Facinelli who’s also known as the obnoxious twittering Dr. Fitch Cooper on Nurse Jackie, alongside Edie Falco, has already produced two projects, Accidentally in Love and Loosies, since jumping into the production arena with his banner Facinelli Films.
Who knows, maybe the Twilight star will get Falco, the former mob wife of Tony Soprano, to join his Bulger flick! And while the thirty-seven year old works on the drama, he’ll be pulling double duty appearing in the conclusion of Twilight Saga’s two-part flick Breaking Dawn, the 2011 movie Paz, a true story about World Champion Boxer Vinny Pazienza and his insane return to the world of sports. The husband of Jennie Garth is also busy with the forthcoming 2012 production of The Absinthe Drinkers.
Tell us what you think? Pulling off a movie about the life of Whitey won’t be an easy task! Do you think Facinelli can deliver?
