The BET Awards aired last night and let’s just say there was one big screw up! Unfortunately it had to do with one lucky fan too.
Tiffany Green was the fan presenter of the evening at the BET Awards. A dream come true right? Well for poor Tiffany that dream has turned into one embarrassing nightmare. If you missed the show here is the lowdown on what happened. Green was presenting the Viewer’s Choice Award and announced Chris Brown as the winner. She then quickly corrected herself and said Rihanna was the winner. If that wasn’t bad enough host Kevin Hart decided to jump in and talk about how awkward it was then he made the situation even worse by announcing Drake as the winner. Yep it was a big giant cluster you know what to say the least. Drake actually went up on stage to accept the award that it turns out really did go to Chris Brown.
So what that heck went wrong? Well that depends on who you believe. Green took to Twitter and blamed the network for using digital tablet instead of the usual envelopes. Apparently she was very focused on the teleprompter which said Rihanna even though the digital tablet said Brown. I can see how that would be confusing after all she was reading the teleprompter and she didn’t really know what she was doing. Plus the girl was nervous and who the heck could blame her I know I would have been. I thought Tiffany handled herself very well on stage, however she did send out a very inappropriate Tweet later using some explicit language that really wasn’t necessary, just my opinion though.
All in all it was a big screw up but no harm was really done. It sucks yes and its one hot topic today but it will blow over. If you haven’t seen the mishap you can check it out in the below video.
