Director Nicolas Winding Refn was recently in the news talking about his desire to bring Wonder Woman back to the big screen and he already has his eye on none other than the curvacious red head, Mad Men actress Christina Hendricks. We’re down with that! Get the details below.
How do this all come about? When speaking recently to Vulture in an interview Refn stated -”I get to do it” (a Wonder Woman movie) “she’s (Christina) going to be it”! And it sounds like the ‘Drive’ director and Hendricks may have spoken about the possibility before since the actress also showed interest, and has always wanted to don the famous outfit!
Depending on the ambition from Refn, this could likely happen, but does he have the right girl for the job of the DC Superhero who will undergo a relaunch this Fall 2011?
Hendricks certainly has the talent to portray one of the most famous, and oldest characters who first appeared back in 1941. Hendricks has shown what she is capable of as Mad Men’s Joan Harris since starting out in the drama back in 2007. But since the AMC series is completely different from the world of super abilities, stunts, fights and lots of action we’ll have to see how she works out on the big screen in the upcoming action, adventure Drive from Refn.
And since talent isn’t all that it takes and she has to be able to persuade her audience into believing that she is the heroine who has super speed, endurance and the ability to beat bad guys. This is were Hendricks body type should be to her advantage! Not that it hasn’t before. Christina, who has had her ups and downs in Hollywood because she isn’t a size 2, has a curvy, thick frame that would make her role as Wonder Woman all the better.
Could you see Ally McBeal involved in some heavy combat, wiping the floor with her enemy? No, but the thirty five year old red head looks like she could go a round or two! Refn is right on, I think he has found his Wonder Woman! What do you think? Is Hendricks perfect for the role? Drop us your thoughts below!
