After a fiery season finale for The Real Housewives of Orange County, complete with restraining orders and tossed cocktails, last night saw both Parts 1 and 2 of the Real Housewives of the OC reunion show. Bravo-TV, in their infinite wisdom, ran Part 1 on Sunday night, then repeated it again Monday, followed by Part 2. So for once we did not have to wait a whole week for the climactic conclusion! Let the drama begin!
Part 1 featured the newest rivalry between former best friends, Alexis and Peggy. Between each trying to out do each other in lip and boob jobs, or arguing about how Peggy had once dated Jim, current husband of Alexis, these two women have added a lot this season. I started out liking Peggy at first, but my opinion of her quickly soured, namely as she aligned herself with Team Tamra, Tamra and Vicky. Those two ″ladies″ are absolutely dreadful and horrible.
Tamra has become the Queen of Mean, dragging Vicky down her angry drain pipe of divorce and lewd behavior. Not that Vicky was a prize to begin with. The over-compensating workaholic wanted the perfect life, even if it meant driving her husband, Donn and her children crazy. Tamra, whose messy divorce with Simon continues, is dating Eddie, a boy-toy accessory for any OC cabana. The topic of her infamous bathtub scene with Eddie drew fire from Gretchen and Alexis, both of whom wonder how Tamra′s young children would react to the near pornographic episode. Fortunately, there is an actual court order preventing the kiddies from watching mommy make a fool of herself. What a world!
Inspired by Tamra, Vicky had a process-server deliver divorce papers to her husband Donn at his place of work. Really classy move there! While Donn did not appear on stage with the rest of the women, he did record an interview. The divorce hit him straight out of the blue and has saddened him deeply. He thinks Vicky was very shabby in her actions. Poor Donn! He′s not the only one who was upset, as Vicky′s daughter, Brianna, is siding with her stepfather. Even son Michael, who works with mom everyday, is still planning to stay in touch with Donn. Vicky is now dating some boy-toy pal of Eddie, go figure.
Part 2 was when the real fireworks came out as Gretchen took on Tamra and Vicky. Gretchen has had enough of these two ruining everybody′s lives. Her fella, Slade Smiley, joined the set and immediately dished it out with Tamra. It seems that Tamra has become chummy with Slade′s ex-wife for the sole purpose of getting dirt to blog about him. True, Slade is a creep, but compared to Tamra, or even Vicky, he is on the shoulder of angels these days. Slade managed to shove enough truth into Tamra′s face that she walked off stage for a while.
Last but not least, we had the return of my favorite housewife, Jeana. The catfight between Tamra and her took center stage and Jeana held her ground. If anybody can save Vicky from the clutches of Tamra, it is Jeana. Yes, the Real Housewives of Orange County reunion show was a barn-burning! The OC ladies were a real sight to behold in all of their disgust and phoniness. Especially Tamra, who has really taken the series down into the gutter. We′ll see what next season is like, but I can only expect it to be worse.
