Now that former Idol judge Kara DioGuardi has recovered from her pot brownie debacle, she is ready to take on a new series for Bravo about the music business. She will also be head judge on the upcoming show, Platinum Hit.
For the docu-series, the network will be following the singer/songwriter in a new show that is being described as part documentary, part reality television. The idea is that cameras will follow her through the nitty gritty side of the music business, something that she obviously has experience with.
On top of that, she will be the main judge in a new singing talent show as well. Even though the show sounds good, the prize is kind of lame. It is only offering a $100,000 cash prize and of course, a recording contract. There is no way it can compete with American Idol or The Voice, or especially X-Factor, which is supposed to have an insane prize. I heard it may even be multi-millions!
Regardless, it will be a lot of Kara for the world to digest. Some people felt she did a great job on Idol and didn’t understand why she couldn’t stick around.
After watching one season with Steven Tyler and J-Lo, I think it’s kind of obvious. Lopez has more emotion and wit than her, and Tyler brings the rock star quality that the show was missing.
Don’t get me wrong, she was sweet, but I know a lot of people were not sure who the heck she was. Now we will get to know her for sure.
Bravo is really starting to take over reality TV. I love the Real Housewives series, especially New York, so I’m not surprised that they are signing on with Kara to launch a cool new concept.
Will you tune in to either show?
