Billionaires in the Making From America’s Top Stars

April 26, 2011

While most Americans dream of making a million dollars, that’s only the starting point for some of Hollywood’s high fliers. Find out what top-earner’s we’ve pegged as billionaires in the making below!

In order to crack into Forbes 400, millions just won’t do it anymore. But below we have some rising stars sure to be there in the next few years. To be honest, I was a little surprised some weren’t there already!

Jay-Z: $450 Million

Rap legend and design mogul Jay-Z has been steadily accumulating cash over the years via his multiple business enterprises. Starting out as an MC in Brooklyn, Jay-Z couldn’t get signed by a label so the young entrepreneur just made his own. Now, he owns Roc Nation records, Rocawear Clothing, and numerous night clubs across the nation.

Michael Jordan: $500 Million

With all of the fame and fortune amassed in his early career, it’s kind of a surprise to find that MJ hasn’t made the Forbes 400 yet! Still, number 23 is wasting no time these days in building up his finances. The former sharpshooter just increased his stake in the Charlotte Bobcats to 80% and is earning a steady income from endorsement deals with Nike and other brands.

Tyler Perry: $646 Million

Although he’s extremely secretive about his net worth, it’s clear Perry is nearing the big $1 Billion if he isn’t there already. The hugely successful screenwriter and actor was revealed to have $646 million a few years ago, and has had huge success since then.

James Cameron: $650 Million

James Cameron 1 2

Another one that I thought might be there already, James Cameron is the picture of success when it comes to film. The man has invented, written, directed and produced multiple blockbusters including the Terminators, Aliens, Rambo II, True Lies, Titanic, and then Avatar of course. I don’t think he’s stopping any time soon!

Jerry Seinfeld: $800 Million

Jerry Seinfeld

Comedian Jerry Seinfeld is the envy of Hollywood. Sitting pretty following his groundbreaking show about nothing, the funny man’s show still earns an estimated $200 million a year in syndication fees. How’s he investing his hard earned cash? Well a four car garage in Manhattan for a start, as well as beachfront property nearby!

Jerry Bruckheimer: $850 Million

Jerry Bruckheimer

I’m starting to think movies are a good career choice. Jerry Bruckheimer is another producer that can do no wrong. Dabbling in everthing from reality TV to full feature productions, Bruckheimer’s only $150 million away from a spot on Forbes vaunted list. What’s he done? Only all of the Pirates movies, the National Treasure films, most of the CSI Franchise, and the Amazing Race.

I was tempted to add Tiger Woods to my list. Currently holding about $500 million, he’s already half way there. Still, I don’t think he’ll be able to get those high-paying endorsement deals that earned him most of that cash anymore! Any bets on who makes the Forbes 400 first? Let me know in the comment section!
