April Youtube Memes – Mid-Month Edition

April 13, 2011

The typically humorous or ridiculous videos we have grown to love appear to be taking a back seat this month. April’s Youtube memes have been wrought with dangerous and somewhat scary videos – and of course those that leave you shaking your head.

April Memes

From late night fights to kids with cancer sticks, it has been a wild one so far—and we’re only half way done. Here is a quick run down of some of the wildest viral videos on the web for the first half of the month:

Denny’s Chair Toss Battle

We’ll start with an epic fight in a Denny’s restaurant. It’s unclear exactly when the chair-tossing kerfuffle actually took place, but the douchebaggery was zapping its way around the web last week. What went down at the crowded breakfast joint would have made Teresa Giudice proud. The only question I’ve got is about the God-awful police response time. Obviously the staff placed the call, but where were the boys in blue?

Massive Airbus A380 Tosses Smaller Jet Around

File this one in the OMG folder. A huge double-decker Air France jet capable of carrying over 500 people showed a smaller jet who’s boss this week at JFK International Airport. As the gargantuan jet taxied along the runway, it managed to clip the tail of a much smaller regional jet belonging to the Canadair fleet. To give you an idea of the size difference: the Air France jet had 485 passengers on board, while the Canadair plane had just 52. Luckily, no one was hurt. The NTSB is now investigating the incident.

Chinese Toddlers Smoking on Train

Okay we know there is a tobacco problem in China (nearly 30% of the population smokes), but this video takes it to another level. In the last few years, we’ve seen a rash of videos showing youngsters overseas puffing away, but these kids appear to be the youngest in a while. Two kids stand in the area between to train cars, each with a stogie in their hand. It seems like they are the most interested in how the smoke looks as it plumes out of their mouths. The most disturbing part is the people casually walking by. Is this a normal sight?

Those are the three Youtube memes that stood out so far this month. Make sure you check back toward the end of April for a rundown of the next set of viral videos. And, as always, feel free to email us with any suggestions.
