Tonight on the cable network Animal Planet, the program Demon Exorcist will air at 8pm EDT, telling the bizarre story of a Virginia family who believe they are being assaulted by a spiritual entity. Who do you call? Fortunately, they contacted Jackie Tomlin, the founder of Central Virginia Paranormal Investigations, or CVAPI. The situation for the family had become critical, as one of the children was hospitalized! But rather than just simply move, they called on Jackie and her CVAPI team to help rid them of the troublesome spirit. The CVAPI team consists of psychics, mediums, demonologists, psychologists and even members of the clergy.

Jackie Tomlin, psychic and founder of Central Virginia Paranormal Investigations will be featured on Animal Planet tonight at 8pm EDT during Demon Exorcist, a true story of paranormal terror of a family in Chester, VA.

Now, before you think this is all crazy and silly, there have been many well documented incidents of paranormal assaults. Perhaps one of the most famous was that which The Amityville Horror was based upon. The 1977 book by Jay Anson tells the incredible story of the Lutz family. About a year before the family of five moved into their Long Island home, it had been the scene of a grizzly murder where a man had killed six members of his family. Within 4 weeks of moving in, the Lutz’s abandoned their home due to their experiences with psychic terrorism.

Jackie Tomlin is a working psychic herself. Kit Karson of PsychicCosmos.com, whom I′ve interviewed before including most recently on the Super Moon phenomenon in regards to the Japanese earthquake and tsunami, brought Jackie to my attention. Kit describes Jackie Tomlin as “a non stop hard worker” and “an extremely talented psychic”. She had started a group called Central Virginia Psychic Development and Paranormal Research where she and like-minded people met monthly to exchange information and discuss trends they saw as psychics.

Andy: “Jackie, how did you get started in investigating paranormal activity?”

Jackie: “I founded Central Virginia Paranormal Investigations as an extension of my earlier group. We wanted to take paranormal investigating to the next level and help people. CVAPI specializes in paranormal investigations for private residences and local businesses.”

Andy: “What has been the response from the public?”

Jackie: “About ninety percent of our cases are confirmations, to verify that they are having legitimate paranormal experiences. About one in twenty turn out to be real. It is rare, but we do receive calls for negative haunts as well. These we move on as quickly as possible, because when you are living in fear, you are no longer living.”

Andy: “What will people see tonight when they watch Demon Exorcist on Animal Planet?”

Jackie: “The Maitland family in Chester, VA is about as typical an American family as you can find. The father, Toby, is an electrician and coaches the local football team. His wife Sarah is a stay-at-home mom. They have three children, ages 12, 8 and 3. They have lived in their home now for 3 years. Each of them have had paranormal experiences, as well as their parents and in-laws. But there has recently been an escalation in these incidents, including physical attacks.

“When CVAPI was called in, the family was no longer residing in their home. After five days and about 120 hours of leg work, we called in Dwayne Claud. He is a demonologist that CVAPI has worked with in the past. A lot of what was filmed was cut due to time constraints for the one-hour program. Some things you will see deal with our equipment, such as powering on while still in its case, recorders that would skip. There was also a bed that shook and random, pungent smells. Video too, of orbs and a hand which was not human.”

Andy: “So what happened? How does this end?”

Jackie: “The Maitlands have moved back into their home. They feel more comfortable now. They are also healthier now, based on blood work results. I believe that paranormal experiences can affect you physically and the hospital showed that the blood work returned to normal levels without any medical explanation.”

Andy: “Wow! That sounds exciting! Thank you very much for your time, Jackie.”

Jackie Tomlin and her Central Virginia Paranormal Investigations team will be featured tonight at 8pm EDT on Animal Planet. The program, Demon Exorcist will air again at 11pm EDT and Saturday morning at 3am EDT. The Discovery Network will also rerun episodes of The Haunting one hour before Demon Exorcist on Animal Planet as well tonight. Jackie Tomlin and her CVAPI team are also wrapping up production of another documentary on the paranormal which will air on PBS next month in May. Below is a video from CVAPI of an earlier investigation at historic Henricus Park, VA.

I believe that there is much more occurring around us than we can perceive.. but I think a lot of times people let paranoia drive them to being delusional about sounds and light etc..

    Andy Z Says:

Well, Jackie says that only 5% of the cases that her group investigates turn out to be legitimate ‘paranormal’ ones. Of those, even fewer are what she calls “negative haunts”.
